The IDOR 2024 – details

Happy New Year IDOR skippers and interested folk!

Just wanting to provide a quick heads-up on the key details of IDOR 2024 while we’re still finalising the details of the Notice of Race. Applications this year will again be using the NuTickets system from CSSC.

The 2024 Inter-Departmental Offshore Regatta will take place 3-7 June 2024, continuing with a mix of inshore and some longer day yacht racing between Civil Service departments and CSSA sailing clubs. The regatta will be hosted by the Island Sailing Club and deposits have been paid on 14 Beneteau Oceanis 37’s from Fairview Sailing. The key details are:

  • Date: 3rd – 7th June
  • Start: 8:30am – 3rd June, Port Hamble Marina (yacht pick-up available from 7.00pm, Sunday 2nd June)
  • End: 11:00am – 7th June, Port Hamble Marina
  • Main Locations: Cowes Yacht Haven, Island Sailing Club, Yarmouth Harbour and Royal Solent Sailing Club
  • Event Entry Fee: £350, to be paid to IDOR Committee by Friday 5th April
  • Yacht Deposit: £500, to be paid to IDOR Committee by Friday 5th April (includes £100 grant from CSSC)

Yacht Final Balance: £1,399, to be paid directly to Fairview Sailing once an entry has been confirmed

IDOR 2024 Dates

The IDOR 2024 will take place from 3rd to 7th June 2024.

The Inter-Departmental Offshore Regatta (IDOR) is CSSC’s flagship sailing event, where the spirit of adventure, camaraderie, and competition converge. More than just a sailing event; it’s an experience that unites sailors of all abilities. IDOR warmly welcomes newcomers. Novices will receive guidance from seasoned crew members.

The IDOR 2023

The IDOR will run from Sunday night 4th June to midday Friday 9th June 2023, with racing starting on Monday 5th. It is expected that the event will follow the same format as in recent years. More details in due course.

2021 Results

After the disappointment of 2020 we were finally able to hold the 2021 IDOR, a little later than usual but better late than never. 9 boats took part, a reduced entry but understandable given the last minute decisions needed. You can see a summary of the results on the “RESULTS” page.
